Fashion forward wearable technologies

With so many cool gadgets hitting the market each year, it can be hard to decide just what you want to buy. There are smartwatches, virtual reality headsets, smart shoes, and the list goes on. But, out of all the choices which ones make you look more fashion-forward, and less like you just walked out of a tech convention?

Take a look at the following wearable tech pieces, and you may just find yourself heading out to the nearest store to pick them up.

Apple Watch

There are a lot of smartwatches on the market, but it is undeniable that the Apple watch is in a class of its own. Not only can it answer your incoming calls, track your exercise progress, and be used as a remote control for your television, but it can also be accessorized with almost any outfit. It is entirely customizable, both from the watch face itself, to the color of the casing, and the material of the wristband. You can go for a classic leather look, or an all chrome one. Essentially, the Apple Watch has been designed to look great on everyone, all you need to do is decide what style aesthetic you want to go with. For the sporty folk out there, waterproof options are available too.

Oakley’s Radar Pace

Sunglasses are the accessory that every person needs to protect their eyes, whether they are simply walking to work, or laying next to the pool relaxing. Oakley decided to develop the Radar Pace sunglasses for the sports enthusiast, with an eye to style and an ear for coaching. Using the Bluetooth feature on your phone to connect to these, they will monitor your pace, and the built-in app will provide feedback, along with some coaching. You’ll be meeting your target speeds and distances in no time with these.

Snapchat Spectacles

If you don’t want to go for the sporty look, then the Snapchat Spectacles will meet your more eclectic fashion aesthetic. They come in three colors, with onyx being a good choice if you want them to go with all of your clothes. The rounded frames, with cameras embedded on either side of the lenses, allow you to record videos at a 115-degree view. Once you have recorded your videos, and yes, there is a built-in mic to pick up any audio, you can then transfer them to your device of choice. They are also waterproof, which means you can shoot videos in rain or shine without any worry of damaging a smartphone that isn’t waterproof.

FitBit Versa

Last but not least, we come to the FitBit Versa. While it is in essence, a smartwatch, it differs from the Apple watch because it is designed to keep you from checking your phone rather than integrating with it. The whole idea behind the FitBit, is to get your heart pumping, and not be distracted by the constant notifications coming in from all of the apps on your phone. The battery on the Versa lasts for about a day or two and is water-resistant up to 50 meters. You will be able to listen to your favorite pump-up music, but you will not have any phone calls disrupting your exercise routine. Plus, it comes in all different colors, so you can wear it with your business casual clothing and your athleisure wear.
